Make the hard questions familiar
Selected by editorial difficulty: dates, less familiar names and easily confused facts. We do not claim these are based on user miss-rate statistics.

How to approach a difficult question
Look for the distinguishing detail: a particular year, a named competition, or the difference between an invention and its inventor. Use your first result to identify a topic, then revise it before retrying.
Three revision habits
- Compare similar dates on a timeline.
- Practise the link in both directions: person to contribution, and contribution to person.
- Explain aloud why the correct answer fits before looking at the next question.
These questions cover historical achievements rather than current sporting records. Read any year or event named in the question carefully.
